Although the first track dates to the 8th century (and incorporates spoken passages), while the second is from the 10th century, and the 3rd-5th are from the 13th century, the bulk of the program is devoted to the Ars Nova literature of the 14th century. This is followed by tracks 15-17 which carry the Subtilior style into the early 15th century.
