Bach: Trio Sonatas
Musica Antiqua Köln - Reinhard Goebel
Archiv 2533 448 (1 LP)

Contents:

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750):
- Sonata in G major BWV 1038 (flute, violin in scordatura; b.c.)
- Sonata in C major BWV 1037 (violin I/II; b.c.)
- Sonata in G major BWV 1039 (flute I/II; b.c.)
- Sonata in D minor BWV 1036 (violin, harpsichord; b.c.)

Performers: Reinhard Goebel, Hajo Bäß (violin); Wilbert Hazelzet, Philippe Suzanne (flute); Jaap ter Linden (cello, viola da gamba); Henk Bouman (harpsichord).

Recording date: 1980.

Comments: Of these, only BWV 1039 is certainly by Bach and is a transcription of the Sonata for viola da gamba and harpsichord BWV 1027. The authenticity of the other three is dubious: they are probably "exercises" composed by some of Bach's sons or pupils. This record has never been reissued in CD.
