Recording date: March 1986

The manuscript from which these pieces are taken is from a Swiss monastery at Engelberg. The manuscript was mostly compiled c.1372, and then completed c.1400. Although it dates from relatively late in the medieval era, it is still primarily Ars Antiqua in style.
