Comments:
To come.

Pierre-F. Roberge

As usual with this ensemble, there is a strong emphasis on the text, and hence an excellent portrayal of the cynical nature of so many of the songs. Although the largest medieval source for secular Latin poetry, many of the songs actually come from troubadour tunes, and these have been recovered for the present program. The program contains a nice mixture of the more sophisticated political satires, and the more earthy romps, as well as a mixture to articulatory style in the songs themselves.

The recording is dedicated to the memory of Thomas Binkley.
