Comments: Like several other recordings of late, this collection deals with the cult of the apostle Saint James (Sant' Iago) and particularly with the pilgrimages often made to Compostela, the site of his remains, in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. Ensemble Weltgesang's release stands out among the recordings (all inspired by the influential work of Thomas Binkley during the 1970s) by its rich, large sound produced by a mixed chorus of fifteen singers with occasional accompaniment.
