The primary sources for this recording are the Mesa a quattro voci et salmi a una, due, tre, quattro, cinque, sei, sette et otto voci, concertati, e parte da capella, et con le letanie della B.V. del Signor Claudio Monteverdi già maestro di cappella della serenissima republica di Venetia (1650), the Selva morale e spirituale di Claudio Monteverdi maestro di cappella della serenissima republica di Venetia dedicata alla sacra cesarea maestà dell'imperatrice Eleonora Gonzaga (1640), and the more minor Libro primo de motetti in lode d'Iddio nostro signore (1620). It makes a nice selection of Monteverdi's published sacred music.
