Perfomers: Gervase de Peyer (clarinet), Gwenneth Pryor (piano)
Playing time: 43'
Recording date: 1982-83 (London)
This has long been my favorite recording. Some people will tell you to get Karl Leister for his tone, which is good I agree, and his recordings are OK, but I still prefer this one for the exquisite phrasing. As you may know, I always put phrasing above tone. I mean, one is the music, and the other is fluff. Plus the tone is good here too.
This recording is a definite choice.
