Another quality Machaut recital is certainly welcome, and this one can be quite captivating. The approach is basically similar to that of Ensemble Gilles Binchois, meaning it is not especially original at this point, but also includes points of refinement.
The program itself is a very good one, especially featuring the motets. At some points, the presentation does not make as much impact as it could, but the overall approach remains sophisticated.
