This remains a superlative interpretation of some fine music. Although the program is not necessarily as striking as some, the stylistic range is welcome. Some of the most famous pieces of the era are included, along with some lesser-known items.
The performance remains sophisticated, building on Ensemble Gilles Binchois' previous experience in an earlier program (no longer listed here). The alternation between male & female ensembles is very effective, as is the phrasing and articulatory style.
