This is an impressive collection of string music & performance overall, and especially for Tenney's final work, the quartet Arbor Vitae. (Both of the quintets from the 1990s are major works too.)

Performances tend to be quite elegant, almost over-smooth. (The interpretation of Saxony, most often performed by solo saxophone with tape loop, is an arrangement for string quartet.)
