Sound quality: superlative

Recording date: 1990 (Paris)

Although a very unassuming program, this recording has always been a personal favorite. For one, it was one of the first Carnatic CDs to offer superlative sound, but more than that, the austerity of Aruna Sayeeram's renditions have much to offer even though she is a relatively non-senior artiste (especially at the time of this recording).

A later program on Makar is more extensive, but also less unique than the present selection. That recording is also from France, and also features a top-notch production.
