Sound quality: fair / poor first track

Recording date: 18 October 1960; CD release: 1994

This is a classic recording; the remastering is well-done, although there is some loud static on track #1.

The end of track #4 is cut off after the thani, which is quite extensive and of course features these two legendary percussionists.

This program is very rough around the edges in production, but contains some classic renditions as well as historical accompanists interesting in their own right. These are major interpretations, but the sound quality rules out many of the nuances.
