This is a pairing of noted medieval singer & director Dominique Vellard with Aruna Sairam (or Sayeeram) of the Carnatic tradition of South India. She has other recordings available in pure Carnatic style.

Although some interesting juxtapositions appear in this program, they are primarily juxtapositions, with the two singers very rarely taking part at the same time. I had also hoped for relatively more complicated material to appear. However, this program does have virtue in its stark simplicity.
