This is a superlative program, superlatively performed. It is easily the finest recording devoted to this repertory, and one of the best all-around medieval recordings to be found anywhere.
The sonorites are particularly sparkling here, and all the phrasing seems just right. Even the dances have a special bounce, and the mix of trouvère songs with motets is particularly satisfying.
