This is an older recording of the pioneering Deller Consort,
re-released at mid-price. There are several recordings available
of the Byrd masses, but this is a relatively "straight"
performance that has held up well, showing Deller at his best.
The three masses are sung one-to-a-part.
Byrd's masses are among his simpler choral compositions, but
are quite popular. They have a classic ease about them. A few
